Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Ifeanyi Okowa, the vice presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), for making a comment about overseeing security if the APC wins the presidency.
This comes after Shettima mentioned managing the country’s security if elected during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference, which took place last week in Lagos.

I’ve been in the battle zone for 18 years, he had remarked. My principle is an economic magician who turned Lagos into the third-largest economy in Africa, therefore I’ll be in charge of the troops. He’ll pay close attention to the economy.

By God’s grace, I shall oversee security, and not only oversee security, but I’ll also command the army in war all throughout this nation.

In response to the remark on Wednesday, Okowa attacked Shettima for allegedly attempting to downgrade the position of the president and elevating Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential contender, who would be designated the Commander-In-Chief by the constitution if elected.

I don’t want to discuss their policies, Okowa declared. Is the president not going to chair the security council at the federal level if the vice president will be in charge of security?

“I fail to comprehend that. due to the existence of a commander in chief. Is the situation about to change?

He has advice to share. But I’ll think it’s ridiculous that he says, “I’ll take responsibility of it.” Perhaps they have decided he will be the commander in chief.
