The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Alkali Usman, to summon the newly inaugurated state Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
According to Track News, the Osun APC called on the IGP on Monday after dozens of its members and properties were attacked in the first 24 hours of Adeleke’s governorship.

In a statement issued by the party’s Acting Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the APC in the state claimed that there were threats to the state’s security and peace, and that many properties, including APC campaign vehicles and billboards, had been destroyed, particularly in Osogbo, the state capital.

“Barely 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took power in Osun State, anarchy appears to have taken center stage,” the statement said.

“This is why the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Akali Baba Usman, to intervene immediately in the state’s deteriorating security situation.”

“We knew the beasts of yesteryear had returned to power yesterday, but we had no idea the extent of the havoc they are currently wreaking in Osun in less than 24 hours after the inauguration.” Today, Monday, is best described as a dark day for our beloved state.

“We are deeply disturbed and concerned about public peace and order, particularly the safety of our throngs of members and supporters in Osun, which has faced serious security threats since Senator Ademola Adeleke’s inauguration as Governor of Osun State yesterday.”
