Sampson Orji, a former governorship candidate in Abia State, has publicly stated that he will support Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi over his friend Atiku Abubakar in the upcoming election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain made the declaration in a statement released to the media on Thursday, stating that while Atiku is his ally, his support will go to Obi.

Orji stated that he chose to support Obi over Atiku because the former Governor of Anambra is more capable and competent than the former Vice President.

The PDP chieftain went on to say that he would mobilize support for Obi’s candidacy because of his track record, not because he is an Igbo man.

“I’m a PDP man until tomorrow, but I’ll support Obi because of what he represents, not because he’s Igbo.” Obi is a social movement. My family and friends will cast their ballots for him.

“Atiku is a good friend of mine, but Obi is a better candidate.” So, telling me to support Atiku when we have Obi who has demonstrated competence and capacity to lead Nigeria out of the woods is blindness,” Orji said.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike stated unequivocally on Wednesday that he will fight back against his aggressors over the PDP crisis.

The PDP chieftain, who has clashed with the party’s leadership and presidential candidate, stated that while he is a Christian, he is not the born-again type who will accept slaps on both cheeks.

“I’m going to blow your head off,

” said Rivers State Governor while speaking at his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu’s, birthday celebration.
According to Track News, Wike was among the dignitaries who attended Ikpeazu’s 58th birthday anniversary party on Wednesday. Wike described the Abia State Governor as a quiet man who follows the Bible verse that says “when they slap you, turn the other cheek.”

Wike stated that if he was slapped, he would rather retaliate than turn the other cheek. The controversial PDP governor threatened to blow off the head of anyone who slapped him.

“Ikpeazu is a quiet man and a born-again Christian, whereas I am not. I’m a Christian, but not a saved Christian.

“I told Ikpeazu; they said if they slap you, turn the other side, but I don’t know if I’d survive the other side if you slap me here.” So I’ll blow your head off,” Wike declared.
