Sule Lamido Said It Is The North That Will Produce Next President; That Was How Obi Left PDP – Wike

The Incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has revealed why the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election, Peter Obi, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after the Rivers bigwig revealed how Sule Lamido told the former Anambra governor that the north would produce Nigeria’s next President.

Wike had said, “Obi was running with us. I knew when Obi left. He was principled and he said he can’t stand it, people should say the truth. He went to see Sule Lamido in Jigawa; not in Dutse, but in a village that will take you more than four or five hours drive from Dutse, the capital. You know what he told Obi? He didn’t tell him that look, you came late and i have chosen somebody. He said it is the north that will produce the next president. That was how Obi left, saying why is he wasting time. Ask him, that’s how he left PDP.”

Wike revealed that Obi saw no reason to contest for the Presidential ticket of the PDP after Lamido, who should have told him that he was backing another aspirant, said it was the turn of the north to produce another President. According to Wike, Obi was disciplined enough to resign from the PDP, because he could not stand the injustice.

Wike hinted that it was the injustice in the main opposition party that made him to insist that Iyiorchia Ayu, who is the National Chairman, must resign for a southerner. (According To Vanguard, On The 10th Of March, 2023, “But I still maintained that look, if you have taken the presidential candidate you can’t take chairmanship again, give us back the chairman.”
