There is enough to pay political appointees but not enough to pay workers N30,000 – Sen. Sani
Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly is certainly on the side of Nigeria Labour Congress as he has come out to question the rational behind having enough to pay political appointees but not enough to pay workers.
The Senator saw no reason why governors can not afford the N30,000 minimum wage.
It would be recall that the Organised Labour, Nigerian Government and governors have been battling it out on the new minimum wage. While labour has insisted on N30,000, the governors said they can only afford N22,500.
Senator Shehu Sani’s tweet:
There is enough money to pay elected officials. There is enough money to pay political appointees. There is enough money to pay campaign officials & foot soldiers. There is enough money to fund campaigns & elections. There is not enough to pay workers 30k wages without retrenchment.
