The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a workers’ charter of demands.
Track News reports that the Organised Labour presented part their demands to Tinubu at a town hall meeting held at Chida Hotel International Conference Centre in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday.

One of the key demands of the Labour leaders, according to NLC President Comrade Ayuba Wabba, is a total war on corruption.

According to Wabba, corruption in both the private and public sectors has nearly destroyed Nigeria’s social and economic fabric, and is one of the reasons the country is not making the desired progress.

According to the NLC President, another demand of the workers is to prioritize social and economic justice.

The term “responsibility” refers to the act of determining whether or not a person is responsible for his or her own actions. This is an important demand for Labour. “We also need a government that prioritizes social and economic justice,” he said.

When asked about corruption, Tinubu stated that his administration would have zero tolerance for it and would strengthen anti-corruption agencies.
