‘Tinubu’s Swearing-in Should Be Canceled And The Senate President Should Take Over’ – Victor Vishnay
The Democratic Alternative Party Candidate for the 2023 Presidential election, Victor Vishnay has called on the President to stop the swearing-in of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He said in an interview with Arise TV that the inauguration should be canceled while the Senate President takes over in an acting capacity.
He argued that the President violated the constitution of Nigeria by showing his ballot publicly to Nigerians after voting in Kastina. According to him, the constitution of Nigeria has to be upheld by the President if the country has to move forward in the future.
He said, ”The truth is that the swearing-in is based on the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Was it lawful that the President violated the Constitution by openly showing who he voted for? What we are saying is that Tinubu’s swearing-in should be canceled and the Senate President should take over. The President is the only one that can rectify the situation. You can’t stand on a violation to impose another violation on Nigeria. Was it right for the President to display his ballot card and to influence other Nigerians? It wasn’t right and we all know that.”
