UPDATE; Total Numbers Of States PDP Has Won In The Governorship Elections Across Nigeria So Far

According to Channels Television, Leadership and other credible sources, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP winners of the Governorship Elections in 6 States so far across the nation. Let’s take a look at the 6 states;

Plateau

The Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Caleb Mutfwang, has won Saturday’s governorship election held in the state. Declaring the PDP candidate, Mutfwang, as the duly elected governor at the INEC collation centre in Jos, the state Returning Officer said that the PDP candidate polled 525,299 votes to defeat his closest rival and the candidate of the ruling APC, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, who polled 481,370 votes.

Bauchi

The incumbent Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the State.

The INEC returning officer, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, at the State Collation Centre, declared Mohammed the winner of the election after polling 525,280 votes. He defeated the candidate of the major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd), who scored 283,000 votes.

Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde winner of the governorship election in the state.

Makinde polled a total of 563,617 votes while his closest rival, Sen. Teslim Folarin scored 251,230. Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord came a distant third polling 38,757.

Delta

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the March 18th Governorship election in Delta State.

Declaring the result at INEC Collation Center in Asaba, the INEC State Returning Officer Prof Georgewill Owunari, Vice Chancellor Rivers State University said Sheriff Oborevwori polled 360234 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress APC Candidate Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who scored 240229.

Rivers

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has been returned the winner of the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State.

Sim Fubara scored 302,614 votes to win the election in the Niger Delta state, INEC officially declared after collating results from all the local government areas at its state headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Coming behind Mr Fubara, Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress had 95,274 votes while Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party scored 22,224 votes to come third.

Akwa Ibom

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Akwa Ibom State has declared the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Pst. Umo Eno, as the winner of the 2023 governorship election held on Saturday, March 18.

Declaring the results at the INEC headquarters in Uyo on Sunday, the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, Prof Emmanuel Adigio, said the PDP candidate polled a total of 356,346 votes to defeat his opponents of the Young Progressive Party and All Progressives Congress who scored a total of 136,262 and 129,602 respectively.
