.The Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, has disclosed that the party’s gubernatorial campaign flag off was rescheduled over issues bordering on security.

A statement signed by the gubernatorial candidate’s media office said the party got reports that some persons have been imported from neighbouring Benin Republic to lay ambush on roads leading to the venue of the campaign.

Abdulrasaq explained that some of the party members who had taken off early in the morning escaped the attack by whiskers and by the grace of God. He added that the situation around Chikanda town is not favourable at all.

‘’As early as 4am, we got reports that some persons have been imported from neighbouring Benin Republic to lay ambush on roads leading to the venue of our campaign.

‘’Therefore, I have reached out to relevant security agencies on how to arrest the ugly situation.

‘’ It is no news, that some reactionary forces are no longer at ease since we debut our campaign slogan -O to ge. Their reactions have shown that they will resist every attempt to change the old order in Kwara State.‘’

The governorship candidate said while the Kwara APC remains resolute in its agenda to birth a new Kwara that will work for all, he would not allow human lives to be wasted on avoidable and redeemable ventures.

He added that the party’s campaign flag off would be rescheduled to another date, so that the party can work more extensively on the security challenges on ground.
