Why Obi, Kwankwaso should get ministerial posts in Tinubu’s govt – Adeyanju
A social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju, has explained why the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and his New Nigeria People’s Party counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso should be compensated with ministerial slots in the incoming Bola Tinubu government.
Adeyanju said the duo of Obi and Kwankwaso were the reasons for the emergence of Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
According to him, the two left the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest on different platforms, thereby taking the shine off the PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Few days ago, it was reported that Tinubu met Kwankwaso outside the country and he is likely to join the APC.
But, it appears the APC in Kano State and the outgoing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje were not pleased with the development, especially as the APC lost heavily to Kwankwaso’s NNPP during the 2023 polls.
Reacting, Adeyanju asked Tinubu to ignore Ganduje, who he said added no value to his victory.
“What value did Ganduje add to Tinubu being president? How many votes did he give him despite all the money they spent in Kano? Kwankwaso and Obi took away almost 8m opposition votes. Those are the real heroes of APC and the Tinubu presidency.
“Tinubu should ignore the tears of Ganduje and go ahead with his plan to compensate Kwankwaso with 2 ministerial slots. He should also compensate Obi because they both played a major role in his emergence,” he said in a post on Saturday.
