Wike Makes a Promise to His Successor in 2023
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that when he leaves office in 2023, he will leave no debt for his successor.
He made the promise during the inauguration of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) Renal Centre and House Officers Quarters on Wednesday.
The Governor explained that he will not leave any debt because he wants whoever succeeds him to start on a clean slate.
“I have told anyone who cares that I will not leave a debt, not even a naira debt, for my successor,” he said. I’m not going to. “I want him to start on a good note,” Wike said to the various stakeholders.
“Let him not say I came and met a 50 billion naira debt; I will not do that.”
I Am A Free Person
Furthermore, Wike stated that he will not be afraid to move among the people when his tenure expires because his legacy will speak for him.
“It is not about how much money you have amassed; it is about what legacy you have left behind, so that when you leave, you can turn left or right and say, ‘I am happy, I am justified, I have not disappointed my people.’”
“I made promises, and those promises were kept.”
“I can put my two hands in my pockets and walk confidently down the street, thanking God Almighty for the opportunity,” he said.
