Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Olajide Adeniran, better known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, has slammed Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for endorsing his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for a second term in office.
Recall that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike endorsed Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday, despite his party (PDP) fielding Jandor as its gubernatorial candidate.

Wike’s decision to support another party’s governor drew widespread criticism, with PDP members condemning him and APC members praising him.

Jandor said on Channels Television on Wednesday that he was not surprised Wike endorsed Sanwo-Olu.

He claimed that the Rivers State Governor did not support him during the party’s governorship primary in Lagos because he lacked structure at the time.

According to Jandor, if Wike had done his job well, he would not have endorsed the Lagos State governor.

According to the PDP governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu has nothing to show for his three years as governor in terms of project execution, so Wike has no reason to support the Lagos Governor.

“During my primary, he did not buy my form,” Jandor explained. He was in Lagos assisting someone else because he needed structure to win (PDP presidential primary). That structure does not exist in my life.

“They had completed all the structures in the PDP prior to my arrival, and I told him in the presence of governor Seyi Makinde, ‘your friend is not supporting me in Lagos.’” I did it again when I went to Port Harcourt.

“That was prior to the primary.” He stated that he was supporting someone else, and I understood why because I didn’t have anything at the time.

“But today, I chose that ticket with all his might within the PDP, and I’m the party’s candidate today.” I don’t think I did anything wrong for him to bring such treatment to Lagos, and I can see how the APC was ecstatic about it.

“If anything, that brought a lot of sympathy because you never expect a party man, a governor of a state in our party, a national leader, to come and do that for any reason.”

“This governor Wike who came to Lagos and said someone had performed, let me ask him how many times this governor has invited him to come to Lagos to commission a project or any governor at all, the way he (Wike) is commissioning up and down.”

“During his four years as governor, he has never commissioned a single project.” We saw Abule Egba flyover, Ajah flyover, airport international road, and the bypass during Ambode’s three-year tenure.

“This government has nothing to show for their efforts.” Nonetheless, their budget performed 88 percent in 2020, 86 percent in 2021, and 77 percent for half of the year in 2022 — both revenue and expenditure.

“Yet there’s nothing to show for it.” What occasion are you commemorating? You simply want to come to Lagos and do nothing. If he had done his job well, I doubt he would have said that person was performing.”
