Power outage: Technical faults throw 15 Oyo communities into darkness

More than 15 communities in Oyo State have been thrown into darkness due to technical faults that prevented public power supply.

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) announced this in a statement on Thursday evening.

According to the statement shared through its Facebook page, the IBEDC said the technical faults affected the Lalupon & Oyo 33KV feeders and Sango, Barracks & Shasa 11KV feeders.

As a result of the current development, the distribution company disclosed that Oyo town and others are currently experiencing power outage.

“Dear Esteemed Customers, kindly note that due to technical faults on the Lalupon & Oyo 33kV feeders and Sango, Barracks & Shasa 11kv feeders, customers in the following communities: Ebenesary, Olodo, lyana Church, Oyo Town, Awe, Fiditi area, Sango, Ajegunle, ljale-oda Area, Army Barracks, Koomi, Command School area, Shasa, Ilagbe, Niser area and environs are experiencing power outage.”

The IBEDC assured that, “our technical team is working to ensure power supply is restored,” while apologizing for the inconvenience
