The proceedings of the presidential election petition tribunal begin in Abuja on Monday to address petitions against Bola Tinubu‘s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who represent the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), respectively, are contesting the declaration of Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 presidential poll.

Atiku is seeking a fresh election due to alleged irregularities at polling units, while Obi claims that Tinubu failed to win the majority of lawful votes and did not receive one-quarter of the votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Obi also accused Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, of being unqualified to contest the election due to election misconduct.
