Since his appointment as the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB in 2016 by President Mohammadu Buhari, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote has continually displayed competence . His reappointment in the year 2020 as Executive Secretary to Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board was not just a mere social jamboree, it was a gesture borne by his landmark achievements in office.
Today, the NCDMB that used to have some controversies prior to his administration has been thoroughly sanitized . Engr. Simbi K Wabote has succeeded in remodeling and rebranding the Content Board. He recently hosted the African Local Content Roundtable in collaboration with the African Petroleum Producers Association during which session he canvassed for the establishment of African Local Content Bank that could provide funding for the development of oil and gas projects in Africa. This is a milestone that is worthy of commendation.
The Nigerian Content ten-year Strategic Roadmap is the brainchild of Engr. Simbi K Wabote. The sole aim is to extend Local Content across the African Continent and ensure access to market for capacities that have been developed locally. The Executive Secretary NCDMB is a recipient of many prestigious awards that were won on the basis of experience, knowledge and competence. One of his awards is the Business Leadership Award he receives in 2019. He was giving an international recognition during the African Oil Week( AOW ) in 2018 for the remarkable achievements he led the Board to record in less than two years of his assumption of duty.
Engr. Wabote represents a flawless essence of greatness, having been endowed naturally in his ability to lead. Today he has a bigger responsibility of championing content administration in Nigeria’s boisterous oil and gas industry. He is known for his efforts in the development of Royal Dutch Shell’s Local Content Strategy and Framework and also oversaw Shell Local Content implementation across several African,Asian and European countries.

Simbi Kesiye Wabote masterminded the construction of the iconic Nigerian Content Tower,and the NCDMB 1000 Seater Conference Hall. Several other structures are currently underway, all of which has brighten up the face of the capital city of Yenagoa. He has succeeded in curtailing the much discontent and disgruntledness that characterized the SPDC Host communities .
Hundred of Youths are continually been skilled and upskilled through training and empowerment programs organized by Engr. Simbi.
Sampling opinions on the x-ray of his administration in the streets and cities of the Niger Delta revealed something very interesting. Engr. Wabote has actually performed far beyond expectations and he still has in reserves so many good plans for the advancement of the Board. He has overtime affirmed his commitment to Local Content expansion in Africa.While receiving the African Local Content Iconic Award conferred on him by the African Leadership Magazine to remain a strong advocate of Local Content adoption throughout the rest of Africa.

The Administration of His Excellency Bola A. Tinubu should graciously retain Engr Simbi Kesiye Wabote just as his Predecessor HE Buhari did. Simbi has the requisite competence qualifications and experience to drive the Board forward. His projects and programmes have thus far satisfactory and it is only imperative that such an Iconic Leader be given the space and time to act. We as concerned citizens of the Niger Delta wishes Simbi well as he works with a new administration at the center.
