According to reports, the Local Government Council Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Dr. Chidi Lloyd, had presented two bills to the Local Government Legislative Council, which one is to ban the open sales of casket and the second is to regulate the ownership of mortuary in the Area.

Reports stated that the bill presented by the Emohua LGA Council Chairman, Hon Dr. Chidi Lloyd, also includes a bill for a bye-law to provide for the establishment, registration and regulation of the Emohua LGA Vigilante Services for security purposes in the Area. He further emphasized that the bill will provide a legal backing for the proposed Vigilante Service, in order to enable the LGA to regulate their activities.

Which he stated that it is due to the disbandment of the different Community vigilante groups in the Area. He further stated that the second bill will regulate the activities of mortuary operators and casket traders within Emohua LGA, especially the sitting of mortuaries and sales of caskets on major roads in the Local Government Area.

The Leader of the Emohua LGA Legislative Council, Hon Mrs. Love Nyenke, in her response speech, thanked the Council Chairman for his proactive steps towards the development of the LGA, and assured him that the Legislative Council will give him all the necessary supports he needs.
