Russian Forces Break Into Ukrainian Capital

Russian military operatives on Friday broke into the capital of Ukraine as the war between the two countries entered the second day.

BBC while speaking on the development disclosed that Ukrainian authorities announced that Russian troops are in the northern district of Kyiv.

The capital city, though the northern district has been invaded by Russian armoured vehicles.

The development has seen the president of Ukraine, Zelensky address his citizens and appeal to the President of Russia, Putin to stop the assault and consider a ceasefire.

The clash between the two countries has seen more than fifty people killed, while several others have been injured and properties destroyed.

World leaders have joined their voices to speak against the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

Some have taken steps to evacuate their citizens from Ukraine due to the life-threatening crisis.

The Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday announced its decision to evacuate its citizens that are willing to leave the country.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, while speaking during an interview with NTA said the Nigerian embassy in Kyiv has been contacted.
