THE Network of Clergymen in Nigeria, NCMN, South-South zone, has endorsed Sen Bola Tinubu’s choice of former governor of Borno state Kashim Shettima as his running mate as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to a statement issued to journalists in Benin City by the region’s coordinator, Pastor Joseph Francis, and his deputy, Apostle Odion Ebodaghe, they agree with the former governor of Lagos state’s consideration of what would remake Nigeria rather than religious sentiment as the basis for the choice.

He claimed that the group had insisted since Tinubu officially declared his intention to run for the party’s ticket that his ambition was divine and that he would win.

“That divine mandate will not be fulfilled until he enters Aso Rock as President of Nigeria in 2023.”

“By selecting Shettima as his running mate, Tinubu has once again demonstrated that he understands who Nigeria is and what it wants as a country.”

“Borno state is working today because of the legacies Shettima left behind, which his successor Governor Babagana Zulum is carrying on.”

“It is also on record that Shettima is a detribalised Nigerian, as evidenced by the fact that as governor, he worked with people from various parts of Nigeria, regardless of religion or ethnic background.”

“What Nigeria needs now are people who can rethink Nigeria and bring it to its needed prosperity, and Tinubu and Shettima represent that.”

“In the past, Christians have served as both presidents and vice presidents.” What extraordinary contribution did they make? If they had done well, Nigeria would not be where it is today, which the current government is attempting to change, and by the grace of God, Tinubu and Shettima will conclude and return Nigeria to its proper place.”
