Two persons have been confirmed dead in a tanker explosion that rocked Ogun State on Tuesday morning.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of the two persons following a tanker explosion at the Lagos-Ibadan road.

The Corps also informed that six tankers, five trucks and two cars were burnt in the accident that occurred at the Ogere axis of the road.

The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, confirmed the death toll.

Many other accident victims were reportedly taken to nearby hospitals during rescue operations.

Firefighters were said to have put out the fire as traffic officials and other security agencies cordoned off the road, asking motorists to ply alternative routes.
