Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has said safety amid increasing insecurity remains the biggest challenges facing Nigerians across the country.

He regretted that the country was bleeding with nobody guaranteed safety.

But the former governor expressed the hope that Nigeria would rise again.

Lamido spoke at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Pent House in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, after a meeting with the ex-President. The Special Assistant on Media to the former President, Kehinde Akinyemi, announced Lamido’s visit to reporters in a statement yesterday in Abeokuta.

The former governor said Obasanjo remained committed to ensuring that Nigeria gets out of the woods, adding that the meeting with the former President reinforced his faith in the country. He wondered that if three workers under Obasanjo could be abducted, who then was safe?

“How do we remain safe is the biggest problem and challenge now in this country. This is because now, nobody is safe again. Imagine kidnapping three workers of Baba, a former President of the country. Who is safe again?

“I came to visit my father and leader and my everything, after a very long time. I met him in a very high spirit and good health,” he said.
