– PDP wishes Nigerian a happy Sallah celebration

– The opposition party, however, urged Nigerians to pray for ‘a rescurer’ in 2019

– The party also accused the ruling party on failing to deliver its campaign promises

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, in his Sallah message to Nigerians on Tuesday, August 21, urged them to pray for better leaders in the upcoming 2019 general elections.

Secondus, in a message signed by signed by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, for the unity and stability of the nation as well as to recommit their individual and collective security and economic welfare into the hands of God, The Punch reports.

The statement read in part: “There is no dispute to the fact that Nigerians did not bargain for what they are getting in the hands of the APC but the beauty of democracy is that it provides the people with an opportunity to make changes and this they must ask Allah to guide them accordingly.

“It is a statement of fact that this is one of the gloomiest Sallah in our country and so it has been since the APC administration came into power.”

Meanwhile, TRACK NEWS earlier reported that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Monday, August 20, congratulated its Muslim counterparts across the country as they celebrate the 2018 Eid-el-Kabir.

CAN’s president, Rev Samson Ayokunle, gave the congratulatory message in a statement signed by his media aide, Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, in Abuja.

The CAN president urged all Muslims faithful in the country to remember the sacrificial lifestyle of Abraham as they celebrate.
