Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated on Monday in Ikeja that Nigerians cannot afford to make mistakes in the 2023 general elections.

Sanwo-Olu made the remarks at the Lagos House during the First Family of Lagos State’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration in 2022, which was organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs.

He stated, through his deputy governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, that Nigerians must make the right choice in 2023 because it is about the country’s future.

He stated that the outcome of the 2023 general elections would have a significant impact on Nigeria’s future, and that Nigerians could not afford to make mistakes in electing their leaders in 2023.

He emphasized that Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the best choice for 2023 because he has built bridges across Nigeria.

He stated that Tinubu had worked with people from various regions and groups throughout the country, and that he sought out quality people to work with.

Sanwo-Olu urged residents to be loyal and obedient to the state and country, stating that residents owed the state patience, obedience, and loyalty.

According to him, parents must train their children in a godly manner and instill in them moral values such as obedience, loyalty, and patience.

The governor’s wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, said in her remarks that Eid-ul-Adha, the annual spiritual exercise, exemplified the virtues of love, faith, and obedience.

She emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that Lagos State was growing at a rapid pace as a result of peaceful coexistence by various groups in the state.

She urged residents to continue praying for peace in the country, to live in fear of God, and to love one another.

Sanwo-Olu stated that love must be reflected in interpersonal relationships and advised parents to live and lead by example so that their children can follow in their footsteps. (NAN)
