Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has asked residents to cooperate to maintain the state’s political stability.
According to Track News, the governor of Lagos State made the appeal while having a meeting with the president and chairman of the Ohanaeze Political Forum and the Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo at the Lagos House in Marina.
The governor insisted that the 2023 general elections for residents of Lagos, especially the Igbos, should be about those who have the interest of the nation at heart in a statement released by Sanwo-spokesman, Olu’s Gboyega Akosile, titled, “Sanwo-Olu to Ndigbo: Let’s remain united for peace, political stability in Lagos.”
There is no area in our state where development of some kind is not taking place, he claimed. We will keep promoting growth throughout the entire state. The nation’s most tranquil state is this one. To keep us all safe every day, we spent a lot of money on security. Therefore, we shouldn’t permit anyone to split us if they come along today.
“We all have a duty to keep Lagos politically stable for the benefit of all of us so that we can all continue to enjoy the tranquility that we are all experiencing. All of the actions we take are instinctive because God made us with the purpose of improving the lot of other people.
“Don’t let us start dividing what has kept us together. Be careful, and let our people realize that what keeps us united is more important than their desire to split us apart. For me, it’s not just about going back; it’s also about wanting Lagos to keep developing. We promise to work hard. We will persuade, support, and make sure to give everyone their own area. Don’t alter something that is successful and good.
