The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, was on Friday disgraced during the presentation of certificates to elected area councils chairmen.

Tracknews.ng recalls that the FCT last Saturday held its council chairmen election with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sharing the positions.

The election was however overshadowed by complaints relating with malfunctioning INEC BVAS.

Speaking at the presentation of certificates, Tijjani Aliyu urged INEC to allow people vote manually if BVAS experience technical glitches.

This statement did not go down well with people at the presentation as the Minister’s speech was disrupted with boos.

Shouting in Hausa, they said, ‘Karya ne ba ma so’, meaning “It’s a lie, we don’t want it”.

Daily Trust reports that despite attempts by Tijjanj to calm the aggrieved crowd, they shouted her down as sounds of “Ba ma so’, meaning “We don’t want”, rend the air.

It was gathered that angered by the booing, Senator Philip Aduda, representative of the FCT at the National Assembly, stormed out of the venue.

Security personnel at the venue were also unable to control the rowdy party supporters.

The Minister who could not continue with her speech later dropped the microphone, exchanged pleasantries with some individuals and left the venue.

The INEC REC, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, later presented the certificates of return to the chairmen of AMAC, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Bwari and Kuje area councils.

The chairmen of APC and PDP in the FCT, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman and Sunday Zaka, were not present at the occasion.
