Senator Orker Jev of Benue North-West has weighed in on President Muhammadu Buhari’s six-week deadline to address insecurity in the country and other issues.

In an interview with Track News , Jev stated that the APC senators are no longer able to defend the president due to insecurity.

The assault on the capital territory, he claims, is a tipping point for everyone, including Mr. President’s most ardent supporters. “That day,” Jev explained, “we went into executive session.”
Only one senator, I believe, objected to the impeachment.
Almost everyone, regardless of political affiliation, was dissatisfied with the state of the country.

Everyone agrees that the most serious issue in this country is insecurity. At the time we spoke, it had arrived in the nation’s capital. Due to insecurity in their areas, some representatives are unable to return to their posts.

Where are you going to flee now that it has arrived in the nation’s capital?

So the whole thing was hitting home for everyone, and we have some people who have been core supporters of the President for the past three years or so, not just APC but hard core supporters, as Senator Bokachua, who is still an APC member as we speak, is an example. The assault on the capital territory, on the other hand, is a tipping point for everyone, including Mr. President’s most ardent supporters.

Other problems were discovered, but that was the main one. As a result of the insecurity, the APC senators can no longer defend the president.

When I appeared on Channels TV, for example, the anchor told me that he had invited an APC senator to balance it out, but none of them came to defend the president on the show.

I was also invited to participate in a Radio Nigeria program.

As I was about to accept the invitation, I received a text message from the anchor informing me that the program had been canceled due to efforts to get another senator from the opposing party to attend but no one was available.

Nobody is pleased with what is happening in the country, and no one is willing to put his life in danger to defend the indefensible.

Even some in the opposition believe the President will not be impeached, but as a Tiv proverb goes, “there is no decent way of crying.” So that was our request to President Obama to address the issue of insecurity.

So, let us hope that he will awaken in six weeks, as I heard the president’s spokesman say, which is very unfortunate. They believe it is their responsibility to come and defend the defenseless.

Another time, one of the spokespeople went on the air and called senators anarchists for doing our constitutional duty, rather than focusing on why we raised the issue in the first place, which was that insecurity was out of control.

Have they forgotten that the man stated that he was coming to solve insecurity issues, that he was given the opportunity to address the bare minimum of what he promised, but he was unable to do so, and that you are saying that no president can solve his country’s problems?

In other words, Governor Samuel Ortom should be commended for notifying the authorities sooner rather than later that it would not be surprising if these bandits broke into the villa one day.

Rather, the Presidency abused and called him names, which is where we are now.

These people are so bold that they have threatened to kidnap the President. They once attacked the President’s convoy, the country’s most protected man today.
