A Family Court sitting at Iyaganku area of Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday ordered that a skit maker, Maruf Abdullahi, aka ” Trinity Guy”, and parents of an assaulted 10-year-old girl continue to be remanded in the Agodi Correction Centre, Ibadan.

The skit maker (31) and the parents of the assaulted child: Isiaka Ahmed, (40), and his wife, Rofiat Ahmed (29) had on June 26 been arraigned before the Family Court for indecent act and lack of proper monitoring of the child.

The Magistrate, P. O. Adetuyibi, had then ordered the trio to be remanded in the Agodi Correctional Centre till July 10.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Oluwakemi Arowosaye had told the court that the three defendants conspired together to sexually abuse the girl, adding that: “Trinity Guy”, on Dec. 17, 2022, sexually abused and exploited the girl in the Kuala area of Ibadan. Abdullahi was asking the victim the colour of his penis, recording the scene and posting it on social media,” she said.

According to her, “the offences are contrary to Section 35 (1) and punishable under Section 35 (2) of Oyo State Child Right’s Law, 2006, as well as, contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000”.

At the court yesterday, the Magistrate, ordered that the three defendants should continue to remain in the Correctional Centre, while adjourning the matter till August 31, 2023, for mention.

“The court was awaiting the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution on the matter.
