Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,

Ogbeni Seyi Makinde, the current Governor of Oyo State, has appointed Ademola Ojo as his fresh Deputy Chief of Staff.

In a letter released and released by Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the State Government, the confirmation of the appointment was made known.

Track News Nigeria learnt that appointment kicks off with immediate effect from June 24, 2022.

The shock is as a result of the fact that Ademola Ojo, the former Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State Chapter, has been for years a strong critic of the government of Makinde.

Recall that the appointee is also a renowned chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party.

In a cheerful reaction to his appointment, Ojo stated he received the governor’s offer with happiness and that he would serve under Makinde in the interest of the people of the Ibarapa political region.

Our correspondent, Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, reports that the former Ibarapa Central Local Government Chairman was also the House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 presidential elections.

Ojo noted his appointment was a welcome development for the people of Ibarapa, who had already been clamouring about the cheating of the zone politically.

He appreciated the governor for the appointment, vowing that he would return by the 2023 election.
