Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has promised that if elected in the 2023 election, his administration will investigate previous governments, Track News reports.
Sowore stated on Twitter on Saturday that he would recover every penny stolen by previous Nigerian rulers, those who have murdered innocent people and deprived them of a bright future.
According to Sowore, if Nigeria can recover funds from the late Sanni Abacha, it can also recover funds from living legends.
“As President of Nigeria, I will investigate and recover every penny stolen by previous Nigerian rulers, those who have murdered innocents and deprived them of a bright future,” he said. If we can get money from the dead and buried Sanni Abacha, we should get it from living legendary thieves.”
Retweeting Sowore’s tweet, AAC Vice President Haruna Magashi stated, “There will be no exemptions, all political thieves, past and present, will be stripped under our administration.” Nigerians’ stolen funds must be returned.”
