Napoli will seek clearance from their doctors before including Victor Osimhen in the squad for this weekend’s league clash against Atalanta.

Osimhen sustained a hamstring injury on international duty last month.

The Nigeria international has missed the Serie A champions last six games across all competitions due to the injury.

The 24-year-old returned to partial training last week and there is hope he will make his return against Atalanta on Saturday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli doctors are now focused on recovering him in the next two days for the trip to the Gewiss Stadium.

Osimhen has scored six times in eight league appearances for the Partenopei this season.

Napoli appointed Walter Mazzarri on a short-term contract last week after sacking Rudi Garcia.

The Parthenopeans are without a win in their last two games across all competitions.
