CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United to play home games in Uyo

Fans of Nigerian champions, Rivers United, will be denied the chance to watch their darling team play at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This is because the ground failed to meet up with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) requirements for hosting football matches.
Instead, the Pride of Rivers will host their opponents at the “Nest of Champions”, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo Akwa Ibom.
Stanley Eguma’s side have been drawn in Group B of the competition along with Asec Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire, Congo’s Dable Noirs and DC Motema Pembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Port Harcourt club will start their group stage campaign with a trip to Dable Noirs on February 12.
They will host ASEC Mimosa in their first home match seven days later.
