The UEFA Europa League round of 16 second-leg fixtures will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2022, Track news reports.

Which of the Europa League’s last-16 second-leg fixtures are we likely to see shock results?

Arsenal will host Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium, SC Freiburg will take on Juventus in Germany, Ferencvoros will host Bayer Leverkusen at the Puskás Aréna Park Stadium in Budapest, Hungary, and Union Saint-Gilloise will face Union Berlin in a home Europa League tie at the Lotto Park Stadium in Anderlecht, Belgium.

Fenerbahce will tackle Sevilla in Turkey, Manchester United will face Real Betis at Old Trafford, Roma will clash with Real Sociedad in Spain, and Feyenoord will take on Shakhtar Donetsk at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

However, Track news is predicting that fans could be presented with unexpected results from the above-mentioned UEFA Europa League last-16 second leg fixtures this Thursday.

1. Freiburg vs Juventus:

This match will take place on Thursday evening at the Europa-Park Stadion.

Freiburg had lost 1-0 against Juventus in the first-leg encounter last week in Turin.

Freiburg head to the game after beating Hoffenheim 2-1 in their last game in the Bundesliga on Sunday, while Juventus defeated Sampdoria 4-2 in the Serie A fixture over the weekend.

The German club currently sits in the 5th position in the Bundesliga table with 45 points from 24 games, while Juventus occupies the seventh position in the Serie A table with 38 points from 26 games.

Freiburg could pull a shocking surprise against the Serie A giants in Germany as they will surely count on their home supporters.

The kick-off time for the Freiburg vs Juventus is 6.45 pm.

2. Union Saint-Gilloise vs Union Berlin:

The Europa League last-16 second-leg tie will take place on Thursday night at Lotto Park.

Union Saint-Gilloise had drawn 3-3 against Union Berlin in the reverse fixture in Germany last week.

They head to the game after beating Genk in an away Belgian Pro League tie on Sunday.

Union Saint-Gilloise have been impressive so far this season as they currently sit in the second position on the Belgian Pro League table.

The Belgium side lacked experience in the Europa League competition, but with their brilliant performances so far this season, they could end up qualifying for the Europa League quarter-final stage ahead of Union Berlin.

The kick-off time for Union Saint-Gilloise vs Union Berlin is 9 pm.

3. Arsenal vs Sporting Lisbon:

This Europa League round of 16 second-leg fixture will take place on Thursday night at the Emirates Stadium.

Sporting defeated Boavista 3-0 at home in the Portuguese Primeira Liga encounter on Sunday.

They currently sit in the fourth position in the Portuguese top-flight league with 50 points from 24 games.

Both teams have met five times in the past.

Arsenal have won 2 and drawn 3 of their previous matches against Sporting.

The Gunners have all it takes to beat the Portuguese side in England, as they will also count on their home support at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Sporting could have the edge over Arsenal and qualify for the next stage as nothing is impossible considering the fact that both teams are currently in form, having won their last domestic league games.

Incidentally, both Sporting and Arsenal won 3-0 against Boavista and Fulham, respectively.

The kick-off time for Arsenal vs Sporting Lisbon is 9 pm.
