Speaking at the kick-off, the Director General (DG) of the Prosperity Cup, Mr. Ono Akpe reiterated the support of Gov. Diri even before he became Governor.
“A few years ago when this idea was conceived, we went knocking on the doors of many Bayelsans, and even if he wasn’t Governor then, he supported us, he supported us again and again in his capacity as a member of the House of Reps and a member of the Senate. But today, we have grown this tournament from what we thought, was a mere play to become one of the most prestigious and largest tournaments in Africa and that’s a great feat.”
