Sports Official: Arsenal confirm the arrivals of three new summer signings Published 6 years ago on August 24, 2018 By Track News Joel Lopez, Karl Hein and Sam Greenwood have joined the academy (Picture: Arsenal FC) Arsenal have announced the signings of Joel Lopez, Sam Greenwood and Karl Hein.Lopez was regarded as one of the most promising talents in Barcelona’s academy but the 16-year-old left-back decided to join the Gunners earlier this summer.It’s understood Arsenal’s head of football relations, Raul Sanllehi, formerly director of football at Barca, played a major role in luring Lopez to north London.Greenwood, a 16-year-old forward who has represented England at youth level, caught the attention of Arsenal after notching up six goals and six assists for Sunderland’s Under-18s last season.Estonian goalkeeper Hein, 17, completed a move to the Emirates this summer after an agreement was reached with FC Nomme United.All three players have joined Arsenal’s academy as first year scholars.
