Former Napoli defender Ciro Ferrara believes Victor Osimhen still has a lot to learn from coach Luciano Spalletti.

Ferrara was particularly impressed with the Nigerian following his scoring prowess coupled with his fighting-spirit.

Ferrara, a columnist with Dazn, in the post-match of Napoli-Udinese said: “Osimhen has enormous room for improvement and it is already devastating like this. The header is his trademark , he frees himself well on the goal, it is his main characteristic. Spalletti knows well that he can work on it and make him grow even more.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen has sent a message to the World Cup-bound Napoli players, wishing them all the best as they represent their respective countries during the tournament in Qatar.

Osimhen is literally in the form of his life with eightgoals eight matches for the Blues since recovering from a muscle injury in October.

However, he would not be carrying that form into the World Cup as Nigeria failed to qualify for the tournament in Qatar after losing on away goals to West African rivals Ghana in the playoffs back in March.

Hirving Lozano (Mexico), Piotr Zieliński (Poland), André-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Cameroon), Kim Min-jae (South Korea) and Mathías Olivera (Uruguay) are the Napoli players in the frame to feature at the World Cup.

The aforementioned players will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of legendary Napoli players Diego Maradona and Giuseppe Cavanna who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and Italy in 1934 respectively while playing for

the Parthenopeans.

When asked if the break for the World Cup is a problem for him, Osimhen said to DAZN shortly after the win against Udinese on Saturday: “It’s not a problem. We get some days off and come back as a group to continue to work hard towards our objective.

“Of course the rest of my teammates that are going I wish them all the very best. I wish them a good tournament, and we’ll come back very soon and continue to work as a team. ”

Osimhen was one of the stars for the Golden Eaglets as they won the 2015 U17 World Cup, winning the Golden Boot award with 10 goals – the most scored by a player in a single tournament.
