Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United legend, has praised Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte, describing his team as a “fight.” TrackNews reports.

Ferdinand also believes that the mentality instilled in his players by Conte helped Tottenham earn a point against Chelsea in Sunday’s Premier League derby at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham trailed Chelsea twice but rallied both times to earn a 2-2 draw, with England captain Harry Kane scoring in the final minute to salvage a point in an enthralling match in which Conte and Blues manager Thomas Tuchel clashed on the touchline multiple times.

Despite admitting that Chelsea outplayed Tottenham, Ferdinand praised Conte for ensuring that his team did not give up.

“We have [Manchester United] ten Hag, and don’t get me wrong, I am happy with Ten Hag.” “But everyone who says Conte isn’t for Manchester United needs to shut up because this guy shows passion, desire, and will,” Ferdinand said on the Vibe with FIVE podcast.

“He had England’s captain [Harry Kane] and last season’s Golden Boot winner [Son Heung-min].”

“And it was clear yesterday [Sunday] that Chelsea were the better team for me.” They were fantastic. But it showed me yesterday that a small part of what you expect from a Conte team is fight.
