Rio Ferdinand reacts as Ronaldo slams Rooney
Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United legend, has responded to forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s dig at Wayne Rooney in his explosive interview with British veteran journalist Piers Morgan.
Rooney had previously chastised Ronaldo for his antics at Manchester United, claiming that the Red Devils would be better off without him.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, responded to Rooney’s remarks, saying in a recent interview with Morgan, “I don’t know why he criticizes me so badly… Probably because he has retired and I am still playing at a high level. I’m not going to say I look better than he does. Which is correct…”
However, Ferdinand, who has played alongside both Ronaldo and Rooney, believes that the recent incident between the two Manchester United legends could have been avoided.
He doesn’t think they’ll send each other Christmas cards, according to him.
“Wazza has come out and said a few things about Ronaldo, which he has every right to do. “However, Cristiano took offense and mentioned him in the interview,” Ferdinand said on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
“As mates, you want to see that done behind closed doors, you know what I mean?” Ferdinand added. It is what it is between them now, and I doubt they will send each other Christmas cards.
