Spurs Eye January Transfer Move For Adarabioyo
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a January transfer window for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
Spurs will make signing a defender in January a top priority following Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury.
The North London club’s unbeaten league run came to an end in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night, with Van de Ven suffering a hamstring injury.
The diagnosis on the Dutch centre-half isn’t yet known, though Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou suggested the injury was “significant” in the post-match comments.
Adding to Spurs’ woes is the three-game suspension Cristian Romero is facing after picking up a straight red card.
Football Insider recently claimed a defender and a central midfielder are wanted by Spurs in January.
Due to Van de Ven’s injury, the outlet have provided a fresh update on Spurs’ transfer plans that includes prioritising the defensive addition.
It reported that Spurs are ‘set to press ahead’ with signing a new centre-half with Adarabioyo, Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth) and Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen) mentioned.
Among the three targets it’s Adarabioyo who looks the more likely to be acquired in January.
Adarabioyo’s contract expires next summer and Fulham may therefore be willing to cash in at their final opportunity in January.
The defender has been sidelined for much of the campaign after undergoing groin surgery.
But per The Evening Standard, he’s expected to be available for selection again in the coming weeks.
