World Cup: Oliseh and technical experts begin work in Qatar
Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and his FIFA-assembled Technical Experts colleagues are about to get down to business as the World Cup begins in a matter of hours.
The former Fortuna Sittard took to social media to share an impressive photograph of the six technical experts, including Germany’s Klinnsman, as they prepare to begin their assignment.
“Meet the 6 Technical Experts assembled by FIFA Worldwide in Qatar to bring you Enhanced Football Intelligence (EFI’S) of every game under the leadership of “sir” Arsene Wenger; Klinnsman, zaccheroni, Cha,Oliseh,Mondragon, and Zubi.” FIFA provides live podcasts after each game,” he wrote.
Other top football gurus and former internationals who will work under Arsene Wenger include the Nigerian international. Oliseh, who last coached the Eagles in the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, has continued to play important roles in global football development/analysis. A fan responded to his recent appointment to the Technical Experts in Qatar by saying, “Dear @SundayOOliseh,
“With all of your experience and exposure, please try to help the football situation in your country.” It is critical! Thanks”
In what appeared to be a fan war, another appeared to respond on his behalf, saying ”
“In Nigeria, such a person will never be allowed near the football stadium.” If you are disciplined and honest to at least 50% of the population, Nigeria is not for you, let alone an elective position. But I’ll get it right one day,” @alexmichaelc01 enthused.
Nigeria did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar after losing a two-leg play-off against Ghana. The Black Stars, who won that match, are one of five African countries competing in the World Cup, and they just arrived in Style, Qatar, where they will begin their campaign against Portugal.
Portugal thrashed the Super Eagles in a friendly match on Thursday, giving them confidence ahead of their first match against Ghana.
