Suspected burglar falls through ceiling and got injured

A 34-year-old man was injured after he fell through a ceiling while breaking into a home in Watsonia, KZN, South Africa. The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call for assistance from the homeowner after he discovered the burglar in one of the bedrooms in the early hours of Monday, November 20, 2023. The officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 07:57.
The homeowner explained that he left his residence but returned to uplift an item he had forgotten. Upon entering the house he discovered the suspect breaking in through the roof. Suddenly, the ceiling collapsed resulting in the burglar falling through. He suffered a suspected fracture to his right leg.
