TRACKING >>Ahead of the May 29, 2019, swearing-in ceremony, there are indications that Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal will roll out the commissioning of multiple projects across the state, as part of activities slated to celebrate the end of his first tenure in office.

A Special Adviser to the governor, Hon. Dahiru Yusuf Yabo stated this in his appraisal over the giant strides of the governor within the last four year of his administration.

He disclosed that some of the projects include those uncompleted but initiated by the immediate past government, those commissioned without completion and those awarded without mobilization to the site before Tambuwal’s administration.

Yabo who is also a member of the Projects Evaluation Sub-Committee of the 2019 Transition Committee, said the committee visited all project sites across the 18 local governments out of 23 and came up with those projects worthy of commissioning before 29th May 2019.

“After collection of data on all projects due for commissioning from the Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs) in the State, our committee visited all sites across the 18 local governments out of 23 and came up with those projects worthy of commissioning before 29th May 2019.

“The Committee recommended 24 projects for commissioning and 22 ongoing projects for inspection before the swearing-in ceremony of Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his second term in office. (Upon which the governor reserve the right to commissioned and inspect all as recommended or not.)

“Some of the projects includes those uncompleted projects initiated by the previous regime but left behind at different levels of completion, and some that are commissioned without completion and even those awarded without mobilization to the site until this administration of Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal took over the mantle of leadership in 2015.

“Many of which are at their drawing board or abandon, however, reactivated and funded to completion level. While some that were completed in the first to the third year is already commissioned such as International Conference Centre, Kasarawa.”

He further listed projects ready for commissioning to include; Government College, Balle, five Urban Water Schemes at Gada, Tangaza, Shagari, Kware, and Bodinga LGAs, two Army Command Schools at Shagari and Sokoto, and Air Force Command College also in Sokoto metropolis.

Other include five roads network within Sokoto metropolis ie Bath road, Namada road, Gwiwa to Sama Road among others. Zonal Fire Service Station, General Hospital, Sabon Birnin and feeder roads reconstructed by the local government among others.

Yabo hinted that those ongoing projects at different levels of completion to be inspected and scheduled to be commissioned during the 1st 100 days of the second term of the governor which will come up around July 2019 this year.

Yabo, however, saluted the governor for a job well done and achieving the feats in silent without making noise about it, which according to him, had given the opposition all leverages to condemn his administration as not performing.

“It takes a large heart to achieve as much and resist the temptation to blow your trumpet at least to counter opposition for the seek of skeptical electorates, who may be deceived by opposition propaganda during the election period.

“And even for the seek of given account to the public in order to receive commendation and appreciate as a moral booster for a good job. However, one can see the obvious reasons why the grateful people of Sokoto State insisted on voting Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for the second times against all odds (intimidation and blackmails) by the apostles of APC.” Yabo further explained.
