The Technical Assistants Forum has commended Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for what it described as a holistic and visionary decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). The forum hailed the move as a strategic and unifying step that would promote political inclusiveness and strengthen the state’s development agenda.

In a statement released on Monday, the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Ogidi Ben Bara, alongside the Secretary, Bibobara Kitchen, expressed strong support for Governor Diri’s decision. They emphasized that the governor’s action reflected a deep sense of patriotism and commitment to the progress of Bayelsa State. According to them, joining the APC demonstrated Governor Diri’s dedication to bridging political divides and enhancing collaboration between the state and the federal government.

Hon. Ogidi Ben Bara stated that the decision was not only a political realignment but a reflection of the governor’s foresight and maturity in governance. He noted that the alignment with the APC could help Bayelsa secure more federal support and attract greater developmental projects. The Chairman explained that such synergy was vital for accelerating progress in key sectors, particularly in youth empowerment and sports development, which have been central to the Diri administration’s policies.

The Forum highlighted that Governor Diri’s leadership style has consistently focused on inclusiveness and people-centered governance. They described his political transition as a calculated effort to create a more cohesive political environment where every stakeholder, regardless of party affiliation, could contribute to the state’s growth. The statement stressed that this move should not be viewed merely through a partisan lens but rather as a step toward ensuring the long-term stability and prosperity of Bayelsa State.

According to Hon. Bara, “His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, has once again demonstrated uncommon leadership, maturity, and foresight. His decision to align with the All Progressives Congress is a clear indication of his readiness to place the collective interest of Bayelsans above partisan considerations.” He added that Governor Diri’s action underscores his willingness to prioritize peace, inclusiveness, and collaboration in governance.

The Technical Assistants Forum urged all Bayelsans to unite behind the governor and support his vision for a peaceful and prosperous state. The group called on political actors, traditional leaders, and civil society organizations to set aside personal interests and embrace the governor’s renewed approach to partnership and development.

Hon. Ogidi Ben Bara further assured that the Forum and the Ministry remain fully committed to working closely with Governor Diri’s administration to sustain ongoing reforms. He said the Forum would continue to promote initiatives that advance youth empowerment, sporting excellence, and economic self-reliance across the state.

The statement emphasized that Bayelsa stands to benefit greatly from stronger ties with the federal government, particularly through increased infrastructural development, improved social programs, and enhanced investment opportunities. The Forum maintained that with Governor Diri’s decision, the state is now positioned to enjoy a more inclusive and dynamic governance framework that aligns with national priorities.

The Forum also described the governor’s action as a symbol of renewed hope and assured prosperity for the people of Bayelsa. They asserted that Governor Diri’s political transition has the potential to unify diverse interests and create a more stable environment for sustainable development. According to the Forum, this decision sends a clear message that leadership must always prioritize the common good over individual ambition.

In conclusion, the Technical Assistants Forum reiterated its full support for Governor Douye Diri and called on all citizens to rally behind his administration. They affirmed that the governor’s move to the APC represents a strategic and patriotic effort aimed at enhancing unity, boosting federal cooperation, and ensuring the continued progress of Bayelsa State. The Forum expressed optimism that under the governor’s renewed political alignment, Bayelsa would witness greater peace, inclusiveness, and economic growth in the years ahead.
