Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

When they bombed an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) of the Nigerian Army transporting villagers to Jibia town to acquire food and other necessities, suspected terrorists in Katsina State’s Shimfida neighborhood caused chaos.

In the incident, two troops died and four others suffered injuries of varying degrees.

This comes just two days after Aminu Bello Masari, the state governor, purchased 10 more armored personnel carriers to help the state’s fight against robbers.

The lone armored vehicle stationed in Shimfida Town to safeguard people from the hoodlums terrorizing the community, according to Danlami Isiyaku, a resident of Shimfida community who talked about the issue, was damaged by the explosive device planted on the road along Shimfida-Gurbi road.

While two of the troops were found dead at the scene, Lieutenant Musa, the squad leader, is still missing, according to information obtained by Track News.

The military armored personnel carrier carrying seven officers was accompanying Shimfida village inhabitants in two trucks to Jibia town to get some food and other necessities, the source said.

They were unfortunate because the terrorists had IEDs positioned on the road, which their APC stepped on and set off an explosion. As a result, two troops perished right away.

The Federal Medical Centre in Katsina is now treating four additional troops who suffered significant injuries. The bodies of the two killed officers have been placed in a Katsina morgue.

It is important to remember that since March 10, 2022, marauding terrorists have driven approximately 12,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) from their homes in Shimfida Community. On August 8, 2022, the Katsina State Government brought these people back.

Two soldiers are killed as terrorists bomb an armored vehicle in Katsina, according to Track News.
