Terrorists kidnapped three women in the Saminaka community of Niger state’s Lapai local government area.
On Sunday, around 8 p.m., the incident occurred.
According to sources, the terrorists began shooting as they approached one of the community’s restaurants and abducted the women.
It was discovered that some of the terrorists’ shots hit two diesel tankers transporting fuel, causing the tankers to explode.
The three abducted women include the restaurant’s owner, Zainab Usman, and two of her employees, the names of whom are unknown.
Mohammed Isah, one of the residents, said the attack and abduction had thrown the community into disarray.
“When we heard the gunshots, we took off running for safety.” The bandits were simply shooting up and down the street. “Saminaka is a small village, and the entire community is in shock as a result of the recent kidnapping,” he explained.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun of the Niger Police confirmed the incident and abduction.
He stated that police tactical teams as well as vigilante members had been dispatched to the area.
“Efforts to rescue the abducted victims are ongoing,” he assured.
