The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe joined the governor, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, and his deputy on “Thank You Tour” to the good people of Ogbia local government area earlier today.

The visit to Ogbia LGA provided the Commissioner with an opportunity to show the Governor, the ongoing construction of Psychiatric/Rehabilitation Centre in Ogbia and also the Primary Health Care Centre at Elebele which was upgraded to Tier 2,
by the Ministry of Health under the Prosperity Administration.

He appreciated the Governor for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit the project sites despite the heavy rainfall, which he said, shows the governor’s unwavering commitment in ensuring robust healthcare delivery to all Bayelsans.

Prof. Brisibe stated the need for the construction of the psychiatric/rehabilitation centre and that it shows the governor’s commitment to inclusive health care and social justice, promoting human dignity, reducing crime and social vices linked to untreated addiction or mental illness, and enhance public safety.

Furthermore, the State Health Commissioner said “investing in rehabilitation infrastructure ensures equitable access to care and supports the health and productivity of citizens, ultimately contributing to national development and the well-being of communities”.

During the visit, the commissioner also highlighted the great health works done by health partners (UNICEF, WHO, GAVI, etc) across the State.

“The Governor has shown great commitment to healthcare development and we’re indeed glad and grateful for his trustworthy leadership across the State” Prof. Brisibe added.
