Akin Alabi, a member of the House of Representatives, has declared that the Labour Party (LP) will not receive more than 15 votes in his polling unit.

Alabi, who represents the federal constituency of Egbeda/Ona-Ara, said this in a tweet in response to a trending media report that LP was planning fifteen agents per polling unit.

He stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be challenged by the LP and other parties (PDP).

His tweets elicited a range of reactions.

While some LP supporters claimed that the party would mobilize voters for the 2023 elections, many others applauded Alabi for stating the facts.

“Labour Party will not get 15 votes in my polling unit at Ajiwogbo, Ward 4, Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan,” he tweeted.

“Predictions for the 2023 Presidential Election in Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan, Oyo State.” APC came in first, PDP came in second, and Others came in third. Keep this tweet.”

In response, Moses Ogunsola stated, “I am staying in the same Egbeda Local Government.” Ajiwogbo is your Ward, after all. Stay tuned, Oloye; the youths in our Egbeda local government are already organizing a movement for Peter Obi. “I’m going to shock you, sir.”

“Unless your ward does not have students and lecturers who are at home due to the ASUU strike,” Anisiobi Elozona inquired. Perhaps your unit does not include Nigerians whose economies have been depleted by the APC government. Before you speak in Ibadan, gather people’s opinions. “I live here as well.”

“He said Polling Unit and not Ward, The number of accredited voters in his PU that day may not be more than 70-100, so it is possible for LP not to get 15 there, because of his influence,” Adams Osaren stated.

Even if we lose that battle, we are assured of victory in the overall battle.”
