TRACKING____Former National President of Ijaw Youth Council IYC and founder of Rahi Medical outreach, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, has said, the Managing Director of Setraco should be arrested and prosecuted to explain to the National Assembly why the East West Road has not been completed.
The philanthropist, politician and business man disclosed this during an exculsive interview with TrackNews in Patani, Delta State, on 29th January 2019.
He further disclosed that, to totally hijack and stop NDDC from functioning is criminality.
“To stop the NDDC is to stop the Niger Delta from surviving in terms of good roads, scholarships and infrastructures‘’.
‘’Despite the corruption of NDDC which is not different from what other companies are doing, they are still able to deliver the basic needs of the masses‘’. He said.
Dr. Chris said, he is delighted to be among great leaders of the the Niger Delta struggle who fought hard to restore nomalcy in the Niger Delta Region, the likes of Asari, Tompolo, Ateke, Joseph Mekeja and Timipre Sylva.
He also stated that, he might not be part of the next circle of IYC because IYC is so powerful but he does not to know what went wrong, being that the cause of dispute in IYC today might be that the people stopped pursuing ideology and started chasing money. He said he is glad to know both parties have settled their differencies and have conceived to work together.
Dr. Chris Ekiyor talked passionately about his Hotel Business and Rahi Medical Outreach which he has set up to provide emergency response to his people.
Responding to the question of the posibility of an Ijaw man becoming the Governor of Delta State he said,
‘’It is not not based on tribe but zoning, the rotation system should go round, if there is no zoning, the Ijaws have a right to be Governor in Delta State‘’.
