Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah, has warned corps members not to engage in any cult-related activities, stating that the Scheme has zero tolerance for cultism.

Fadah issued the warning on Saturday during a visit to the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Ikot Itie Udung in Akwa Ibom’s Nsit Atai Local Government Area.

To advance in their careers, he advised corps members to be disciplined.

The director general also warned corps members not to use social media for spreading fake news, inciting hatred, or other negative purposes, but rather to use it to promote national unity and development.

The director-general reminded corps members that white-collar jobs were becoming scarce, and he encouraged them to participate in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to become self-employed.

“Among the scheme’s dos and don’ts are cult and cultism, both of which we have zero tolerance for.”

“Second, use social media; we live in the twenty-first century, so social media is essential, but make sure you use it positively rather than negatively.”

“Then there are drugs and drug-related problems.” Please do not engage in any drug-related activities. You can be more if you keep up your good behavior and strive to achieve your heart’s desires. Make a point of learning any of the vocational skills.” According to Fadah.

He reassured corps members that NYSC management remained committed to their safety and security.

Fadah urged the corps members to be patriotic and strive for greatness, as their future appeared bright.

The director-general informed them that he served in Akwa Ibom as a corps member 30 years ago and is now returning to the state as the scheme’s director general.

“I’m relieved to see that everyone is in a good mood and that the environment is clean.”

“Continue in that spirit, as I told you 30 years ago, I was a corps member at Afaha Nsit camp in Akwa Ibom state, and today I am back as the Director General of NYSC.”

“You, too, can be like me.” “I wish you a prosperous stay in Akwa Ibom and the blessing of God.” “He stated.

He urged NYSC staff to treat corps members with empathy and love, noting that they have a bright future ahead of them.

Because the sky is the limit for them, the DG charged the corps members with being of good behavior, maintaining discipline, and abhorring social vices.

Mrs Chinyere Ekwe, the State Coordinator, thanked the Director General of NYSC on behalf of the corps members for his visit to the camp, support, and assistance to the scheme.
