Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has claimed that the United Kingdom under the late 96-year-old monarch supported Nigeria during the Biafran war amid the issues surrounding the death of Queen Elizabeth, including accusations of being cruel to Africans.
According to Track News, the President informed Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, of this on Saturday while paying her a condolence visit at her Abuja home.

The president, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, stated that the UK supported Nigeria’s unity throughout the Civil War, which lasted from 1967 to 1970.

He claims that the Queen visited Nigeria on two separate occasions, spending roughly 20 days touring various cities, and that they are working together to combat the insurgency there.

We have kept very close connections with the monarchy, according to Buhari. She was a very kind and refined monarch. For the sake of remembering, it should be noted that 90% of Nigerians are unaware of any British monarchs outside the queen. We congratulate the new king and anticipate a productive working partnership with the UK.

They were a very solid ally even through the difficult time we experienced during the Biafran War; they defended the unity of the Nigerian state, provided assistance, and made sure we were able to resolve that issue.

“In order to combat the insurgency and prevent it from overwhelming us, we are working together. They have consistently been a very solid ally.

“The ruler of the Commonwealth, to which we are all citizens. Additionally, she served as our nation’s head of state from 1960 to 1963 for three years until ceasing to do so when we became a republic. The queen and us have a very close relationship. She made two trips there: once in 1953, when she spent around 20 days touring various places, and another in 2003, when President Olusegun Obasanjo was in office.

Prince Charles becomes the new king.
Charles, Prince of Wales, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest child and the oldest heir apparent in British history at 73, succeeds her as monarch of the United Kingdom.

The longest-reigning monarch in British history, according to Track News, passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.

Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, all of whom are now in their sixties and seventies, came to her Scottish Highland home, Balmoral.

Prince Harry and Prince William, two of Charles’s sons, joined them.
