The former Governor of Ekiti State and a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ayodele Fayose, has revealed that he, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former Governors Samuel Ortom, Nyesom Wike, and others have resolved to back the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Fayose had said, “People like me, others like Governor Wike and Governor Makinde, and other wonderful Nigerians, we have made up our mind that it is better to stand with a man with vision.”
Ayodele Fayose, who spoke at a press conference, hinted that the G-5 Governors on the PDP platform would continue to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, the PDP bigwigs have resolved to back the administration of the former Lagos governor because the administration’s project is to fix Nigerians. He maintained that there is no need to continue to campaign or oppose the winner of the 2023 contest, rather, there is a need for Nigerians to work together to ensure that President Tinubu delivers on his campaign promises.
The former Ekiti Governor said this during a visit to President Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa. He revealed how he joined forces with Wike and others to ensure that the next President came from the South. According to him, it was the only reason why he worked to ensure that Atiku Abubakar did not emerge as the winner of the Presidential election.
Fayose went further to express hope that President Tinubu would fix Nigeria. According to him, the former Lagos governor has already begun to work to fix the country.
