The Convener of the 2022 National Debate, Sir Monday Diamond, has met with Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, the former President of Nigeria, on Wednesday in Niger State.
Sir Diamond who went to the private residence of the military leader, the Hilltop Home in Minna, also felicitated with him on his 81st birthday.
The elder stateman who was in the gleam of his birthday celebration received the convener and his team with sparkling joy, praying that the grand event of the debate holds in peace.
Speaking with Sir Diamond, he told Track News Nigeria that the visit was in a bid to add “noise” to the event which will see to the political stability of Nigeria by engaging various stakeholders to talk on issues affecting the nation.
“The debate is not something we can do without informing the Nigerian leaders. Babangida is one as we all know. We’re adding noise to it”.
